June Giveaway: Pinceau-Magique!

Our Wabisabi Giveaway for this month is from our sponsor Pinceau Magique. Pinceau Magique is the art company run by Corinne Le Strat of Brittany, France. Corinne is the mama of two children, six and eleven years old, and has been passionate about drawing since she herself was a child. Always looking for opportunities to encourage art in her home, she started her business four years ago when she began making paintings for her children's bedrooms. Since then she has joined the Association of Mampreneurs - a network of women who have created their own business and share the desire to grow professionally while preserving family life.

In her own words:

On the encouragement of my friends I created my website Pinceau Magique. I realized that there was a real desire among parents to customize their child's room. With a playful and colorful style, I propose my paintings since 4 years on my website, at creative art markets and exhibitions. Somehow I hope to communicate my passion of art to children through my paintings.

Corinne paints canvases with acrylic paintings and then has all the originals faithfully reproduced by a Canadian company working with artists and museums. With an emphasis on quality, each print is made with natural pigments on pure cotton canvas frame, is UV resistant and VOC free. She especially enjoys painting jungle scenes with vibrant colors and funny animals, embodying a certain sweetness as well as a spirit of brotherhood and harmony. She also loves painting kokeshi dolls because "for me they embody some wisdom and sweetness."

This month Corinne is offering one lucky reader this charming 9x11 inch "Chowa" kokeshi print that would be perfect in your little one's nursery!

May Giveaway: Crowsmack Clothing!

I feel so lucky to have PapaD as a husband in part because of the vibrant art community that I can be involved in because of him. Some artist friends of ours started their own little business selling childrens clothing with one-of-a-kind whimsical designs. This amazing husband and wife duo of Gibbs n' Keri have worked in the animation and illustration industry for eight years doing projects for Nickelodeon, Littlest Petshop, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Electronic Arts. They are also dad and mom to two little girls of their own, whom I am sure help to inspire each individual design. Check out their amazing work on their Crowsmack Clothing Website and also in their Crowsmack Etsy shop.

Talk about great design. We have this gingerbread fox onesie for our little Lucy that we love.

Or can you just imagine your little girl in this unicorn shirt...

...or this Spring Swallow Bird shirt?
And fear not, there are plenty of designs for your little boys (or tomboy girls) - robots, zombies, and dragons too.
They even have vinyl wall decals to give that special touch to a nursery, playroom or bedroom.

In addition to having original, great designs, all the clothing is printed on high quality American Apparel shirts. The shirts are dyed (using only the highest quality fiber-reactive dyes that will not bleed or wash out), pulled, silkscreen printed (with environmentally-friendly water based inks), and heat set (to ensure your print will hold up to repeated washings without cracking or fading) BY HAND!!! There is so much to love about Crowsmack Clothing!

Gibbs N' Keri have been generous enough to sponsor a giveaway for one lucky Wabisabi Mama reader of a t-shirt or onesie of his/her choice. Just check out the Crowsmack Etsy shop and leave us a comment here letting us know what your favorite design is.

You can gain additional entries by becoming a fan of Wabisabi Mama on facebook (1st timers only - leave a separate comment) or becoming a follower by clicking on the sidebar (1st timers only - leave a separate comment). Comments close one week from today, on May 8th at 8pm EST. A winner will be selected by random number generator and announced here on May 9th.

In addition, Wabisabi Mama readers can get 10% off your total order from the Crowsmack Etsy shop for the whole month of May. Just use the promo code "wasabi10" when checking out.

April Giveaway: Nerdy Little Secret

Our Wabisabi Giveaway for this month is from our sponsor Nerdy Little Secret, a super-cute Etsy shop run by Hilary Spencer. Hilary lives in Maine and specializes in crochet and polymer clay crafts. She learned crochet from her sister and grandmother as a child opened her first Etsy store two years ago. Her forays into polymer clay products are primarily focused on kistchy earrings that look like mini food products.
In her words:

My shop name, Nerdy Little Secret, is an idea I played around with a lot before I finally committed to it. It's purpose is to remind us that everybody can be a nerd sometimes, and there's a person hidden inside all of us that goes crazy for something, be it pac-man or puppies. We all have something that makes us a nerd.
Some of the whimsical pieces you'll find at Nerdy Little Secret:

Cookie Monster scarf and earring set

Mini chocolate rose cake - for a dollhouse perhaps?
Amigurumi penguin

Pac-man charms

Non-gooey s'mores - one of my favorites in her shop!
This month Hilary is offering one lucky reader the Cookie Monster scarf and earring set featured above and a second winner will receive a set of earrings (you choose from her store!). Hilary's goodies are fabulous gifts for children - and with Easter just around the corner, these would be lovely tucked into a basket!

March Giveaway: Little Pink Plum!

Our Wabisabi Giveaway for this month is from our sponsor Little Pink Plum. Janette Pasali, the creative mind behind Little Pink Plum, is a stay-at-home mom of three, living in San Diego, California. She blogs over at Jan's Crafty Nest. Her shop, Little Pink Plum, is stocked with all sorts of lovely magnets and buttons.
In her words:
It seems like I’ve been crafting with paper my whole life. When I was about 5 or 6 years old, my mother (who is Japanese) taught me how to fold a crane from origami paper and I became fascinated with being able to create things from paper - jewelry, cards, etc. Now, using my button press to make fun accessories is the perfect way for me to create and also work with paper. I am inspired by nature, animals, current trends and love using fun images as well as origami and Japanese chiyogami paper.
Some of the goodies you'll find in Janette's store:

This month Janette is offering one lucky reader a set of the adorable kokeshi magnets featured above (you may remember that we featured them earlier this year in this post). These would make lovely gifts, Easter basket stuffers, or look great on your own fridge!

To be entered to win please leave a comment on this post. You can gain additional entries by becoming a fan on facebook (1st timers only - leave a separate comment) or becoming a follower by clicking on the sidebar (1st timers only - leave a separate comment). Comments close one week from today, on March 8th at 8pm EST. A winner will be selected by random number generator and announced here on March 9th.

February Giveaway: Herbal Heating Packs

I have some indulgences when it is cold out: sitting down with a book or to watch a movie with a cup of tea, my knitting, and one of these herbal heating packs on my belly.
A few winters ago I started making them and they have become a staple in my house (and have been given as a gift to practically everyone I know). Toss it in the microwave or on a cookie sheet in a warm oven and soon you have some toasty goodness to throw into the foot of your bed to warm up those sheets, or to soothe away achy cramps.  They are made with cotton and stuffed with a blend of rice, flax, lavender and a little rosemary and measure about 9 x 8 inches.

I figure everyone must want one of these useful treasures, so for this month's giveaway I'd like to offer one homemade herbal heating pack to four lucky winners. To enter, simply leave a comment letting me know what makes you happy and comfortable when it's cold out. Comments close in one week, at 8om EST on Tuesday, February 8th.

Good luck and thanks for participating!

Giveaway! Little Cheeks Boutique

We are lucky to have a great giveaway by Little Cheeks Boutique this month. All you have to do to be eligible  to win a $25 gift certificate to this adorable children's shop is "like" the Little Cheeks Facebook page and leave a comment here letting us know you've done so.

Little Cheeks is run by the very wabisabi Nichole Enoch, who had always dreamed of starting her own business. Last November, Nichole turned that dream into a reality when she opened Little Cheeks with her husband. Little Cheeks offers unique clothes, accessories and baby items for girls and boys (important for this mother of two boys) with an emphasis on affordability--nothing in the store is more than $40. But you'd never guess by looking at what they offer:

When naming the boutique, Little Cheeks was actually not even on the short list, but Nichole kept finding herself saying to her little baby, "I just love your little cheeks!" The name was added to the list, a vote was taken and Little Cheeks came out victorious!

If you know some little cheeks that could benefit from cute new gear, enter this giveaway today! While Little Cheeks doesn't have an online store, you can find photos and prices of most of the items offered on the Little Cheeks blog or Facebook page.  Nichole will ship the item(s) directly to the winner.

Comments must be received by Saturday, January 8 at midnight EST.
