Produce and pesticides
As a continuation of MamaQ's post yesterday, I found this list in American Baby magazine about produce with the most and least amounts of pesticide. Maybe it will help you prioritize what types of produce on which you should splurge and go organic, or at least take extra care in washing before eating.
Produce with the highest pesticide levels
1. peaches
2. apples
3. bell peppers
4. celery
5. nectarines
6. strawberries
7. cherries
8. kale
9. lettuce
10. imported grapes
11. carrots
12. peas
Produce with lowest pesticide levels
1. onions
2. avocado
3. corn
4. pineapple
5. mangoes
6. asparagus
7. sweet peas
8. kiwi
9. cabbage
10. eggplant
11. papaya
12. watermelon

That's funny, I just posted an almost identical story yesterday on my FB page.
Thanks for the list - good info. I buy organic whenever possible. It is not as easy to find a good variety and assortment in NH (compared to other places I have traveled) but that's why we can switch it up depending on the week and what is available!
