Oishii: When I'm hungry...

By MamaQ

I love eating.  Food is such an intrinsic pleasure of living, no?  Of course, I love Japanese food, along with any other kind of delicous and satisfying cuisine.  I have my go-to recipes that are staples in our family, but I suspect that there are secrets out there.  You know, simple, delicious meals that are staples in your home that I don't know about.  And I want to know about them.  What do you cook?  Where do you get your recipes?  What are your culinary influences?  Will you please share?

It's only fair that I reciprocate, so in addition to sharing my own family recipes on this blog, I'll also let you know of a place I like to visit to get good ideas and recipes for Japanese food: Just Hungry. The author, Makiko, does an excellent job of explaining ingredients and cooking techniques.  You should check it out if you're interested in Japanese food.

Now, your turn.  Please share!

I love to make bread. It is my favorite thing to make. We decided to go completely store bought free and make it once a week. We even grind the wheat, which I love to do. It makes the bread so much better. I have a harder time with cooking, which is weird because it takes about 3-4 hours to make bread but only like an hour to make most other dishes.
